The Thinker — Christmas Ornament

The Thinker (2018) is Joseph Klibansky's contemporary homage to Auguste Rodin's Le Penseur, a bronze figure reimagined for the twenty-first century. Where Rodin's thinker embodied the philosophical mind of 1880, Klibansky asks what occupies our thoughts today, in an age shaped by technology and social media. Cast in limited editions from intimate to monumental scale, the sculpture has been shown publicly in Amsterdam, including at ARTZUID and on Rembrandtplein.

This Christmas ornament distills that contemplative icon into a collectible holiday piece, a small pause for reflection amid the season's glitter and a nod to one of Klibansky's most recognizable public sculptures.

Each ornament arrives in a black box wrapped in satin-textured matte black paper, with the name of the sculpture printed in gold foil on the top. The box is closed with an authenticity seal that you cut to open it. Inside, the ornament rests in a foam inlay cut to its exact shape, so it is safely packed and beautifully presented.
